VELA Shower Door Co. – Terms & Conditions

By approving an estimate, submitting a deposit, or allowing work to begin, the customer (“Client”) agrees to the following Terms & Conditions. These terms are intended to clearly define expectations, protect both parties, and ensure a smooth project experience.

Estimates & Pricing

  • All estimates are provided as preliminary projections based on available information at the time of proposal. Final pricing may change if project details, site conditions, materials, or specifications are modified.

  • Any changes requested by the Client after approval—whether due to design revisions, material upgrades, or site-related factors—may result in additional charges. All changes must be approved in writing.

  • Pricing may include applicable taxes depending on jurisdiction.

  • Due to ongoing fluctuations in material, labor, and manufacturing costs, estimates are valid for ten (10) days from the proposal date.

  • All projects are subject to delays caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to supply chain disruptions, weather conditions, strikes, or unforeseen site conditions.

Deposits & Project Authorization

  • A signed approval and a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total project cost are required before fabrication or material ordering begins.

  • Deposits are applied toward the final project balance and secure production scheduling.

  • Once materials are ordered or fabrication begins, deposits cannot be refunded.

Design Consultations

  • An in-person design or measuring consultation may be subject to a $75 consultation fee.

  • This fee will be waived or credited toward the project total if the Client proceeds with a deposit at the time of consultation.

Payment Terms

  • The remaining balance, including any applicable taxes not previously collected, is due immediately upon completion of installation.

  • Payment must be made on the day of installation unless alternative arrangements have been approved in writing.

  • By submitting a deposit via credit card, the Client authorizes VELA Shower Door Co. to charge the final balance to that same payment method unless another form of payment is provided at completion.

  • Checks must be made payable to VELA Shower Door Co.

Scope of Work

  • VELA Shower Door Co. specializes exclusively in the installation and removal of glass and related hardware. Work outside this scope—including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, tile repair, or structural modifications—is not included.

  • The Client is responsible for ensuring that all furniture, fixtures, and personal items are removed from the installation area prior to arrival.

  • When removing existing shower enclosures, underlying wall or tile conditions cannot be predicted. Minor hole filling with silicone may be performed when necessary, but surface repairs beyond this are not included.

  • It is the Client’s responsibility to disclose any known structural limitations, waterproofing concerns, or hidden conditions prior to installation.

Ordering, Materials & Finishes

  • Lead times vary based on product selection, vendor availability, and seasonal demand.

  • While we make every effort to match existing finishes, exact color or finish matching cannot be guaranteed. Manufacturer finish names may differ between brands, and variations are common.

  • Hardware and glass selections are limited to available vendor offerings.

Product Recommendations & Usage

  • Mirrors exceeding 60 inches in width or height may be more prone to visual distortion and are not covered under warranty beyond industry standards.

  • Glass panels exceeding 108 inches in height or width are not warranted against bowing.

  • For shower installations, silicone requires a minimum of 24 hours to fully cure. Use of the shower prior to curing may compromise performance and void related warranties.

Media Use & Ownership

VELA Shower Door Co. may photograph or record completed or in-progress installations for business purposes.

By proceeding with the project, the Client grants VELA Shower Door Co. the unrestricted, royalty-free, perpetual right to use such media for marketing, advertising, documentation, and promotional purposes across all platforms, without additional consent or compensation.

Clients agree not to interfere with reasonable media capture during or after installation.

Warranties & Industry Standards

  • Warranty coverage varies by product and package selection and is non-transferable unless stated otherwise.

  • Protective coatings, when applicable, carry manufacturer or VELA-specific warranties as outlined in accompanying documentation.

  • Silicone is considered a maintenance item and is not warranted, as environmental conditions and cleaning practices affect longevity.

  • Frameless shower systems are designed to deflect water, not create a fully watertight enclosure. Small gaps may be necessary to allow for proper function and structural movement.

  • Glass inspections follow ASTM standards and must be evaluated from a minimum distance of 10 feet in natural lighting.

  • Tile cracking may occur during drilling due to substrate conditions. VELA Shower Door Co. is not responsible for tile failure, as this reflects underlying installation quality rather than workmanship.

Acceptance of Terms

Approval of an estimate—whether by signature, written confirmation, or payment—constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of these Terms & Conditions in full.
